We are really pleased to have a fantastic 2011 Alfa Romeo Giulietta JTDM-2 Veloce 1.6 Diesel Manual (Type 940) coming into stock soon with low mileage, a comprehensive full service history and a full 12 month premium warranty from our warranty partners Blue Chip.
We wonder how many people are aware of what impeccable credentials the Tipo 940 has?
The award-winning Giulietta replaced the 147 and was a success for Alfa Romeo, having been produced for 10 years with almost half a million sold in that time. It won the Auto Europe Award for Best Compact Car of the Year in 2011, as well as a design trophy from Auto Zeitung Magazine in 2010. It also came second in the European Car of The Year Awards in 2011 and the Multiair engine range won best new engine in 2010.
The model has an interesting racing heritage, with wins in the British Touring Car Championship, as well as the TCR International Series and WTCR, winning a trophy in 2020 (at the end of its life-cycle) as the highest ranking car without factory support.
The Giulietta also had a movie career! It was used as a hero car in the 2013 film Fast & Furious 6, driven by character Mia Toretto to escape a cargo plane as it crashes to the ground. To promote the film, Alfa Romeo published a series of photos featuring Giuliettas that were destroyed during the film's production.

The Giulietta was designed by Lorenzo Ramaciotti, the Group Chief of Design at FIAT Group Automobiles. Ramaciotti started his career at Pininfarina, working on many of the most beautiful Ferraris of the 90's, and was head-hunted by FIAT boss Sergio Marchionne to lead the FIAT Group Design Centre in 2007. He was also responsible for the Maserati Quattroporte Mk6 as well as the highly rated Alfa Romeo 4C sports car.
